Published Mar 8, 2019

March 8, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce its first set of UPSL Youth Academy Division Conference Managers, effective immediately.

The UPSL Youth Division Conference Managers will promote the UPSL's Youth Development Academy and the UPSL Pro Development structure to clubs nationwide. The UPSL's Promotion/Relegation Model values ability and proven performance over simple age-groupings. The new Conference Managers will lead member support efforts for vertically-integrated clubs from youth to adult, grassroots to professional.

Among the UPSL Conference Managers are Christian Vallejos (South Florida), Alex Moncaleano (Central Florida), Edgar Palacios (Austin and San Antonio), Jorge Echeverria (Dallas and Ft. Worth), Herald Zurita (Houston), Djibril Coulibaly (Coastal California) and Tony Partida (San Diego).

The newly-formed UPSL Youth Academy Division will begin with the upcoming 2019 Spring Season.

United Premier Soccer League Executive Director Derek Barraza said, "The UPSL Youth Division is gaining tremendous momentum around the country and we're proud to announce the select few who have stepped up to lead the way in their respective regions. There's a lot of excitement for the youth side of the game in the United States. The UPSL is committed to player, coach, and club development at all levels. The UPSL Youth Division gives the league's academy teams a new development pathway from youth to college and/or professional soccer. In addition, UPSL supports unaffiliated clubs building a connection to the league and U.S. Soccer to truly 'Grow The Game'. We look forward to working closely with all involved to create a brighter future for youth clubs nationwide."

The UPSL Youth Academy Division will develop an elite youth competition program. Utilizing its affiliation with U.S. Club Soccer, the UPSL will provide a pathway for players wanting to achieve higher levels of competition within the UPSL Tier System and beyond.

Sanctioning from U.S. Club Soccer will provide UPSL Youth Academy Division clubs access to an exclusive network of events, tournaments and cup competitions that will further advance opportunities for players.

Teams and age-groups (Under-18s, Under-17s and Under-16s) will continue to be added to the UPSL Youth Division in the coming weeks and months.
